Our founding principle: care for all
P.U.R.P.O.S.E. Incorporated is a nonprofit community organization dedicated to helping children, families, senior citizens, and individuals in need throughout our communities in Westwego, Louisiana. For more than 26 years, our mission has been centered on giving back, creating opportunities, and making sure people know that someone cares. We believe that a strong community is built on compassion and support for all its members.
Making every child feel special
One of our largest programs is our Annual Toy & Bike Drive, where we provide toys, bicycles, food, drinks, free haircuts, games, face painting, and family activities for children during the Christmas season. We serve hundreds of children and families and work to make every child feel special during the holidays. Our work extends year-round, supporting at-risk and underprivileged youth, children from single-parent households, and those affected by bullying and domestic violence.
Empowering futures through support
We encourage education and positive behavior through school involvement, academic recognition, educational trips, mentoring, and community activities. Our ultimate goal is to build stronger communities where children believe in their future, families know they have support, and senior citizens know they are valued and never forgotten. We want young people to understand that where they start in life does not determine where they can finish.
